The Tom Hill Wine Tasting Notes Archives

The Los Olivos Wine & Spirits Emporium presents the musings, reflections and tasting notes of Tom Hill. We think it's great that Tom, who has sampled so many wines (centering on California, espcially Pinot noir, Zinfandel, Syrah and Rhones with some asides to Cabernet and Chardonnay among others), has shared his tasting notes with us. We do have, or have had for sale a few of the wines Tom writes about, and we include a link to our stock page if it is a producer we carry (but since the stock page is kept up-to-date and the wines are for sale, don't expect any but the newest of wines to show up in our stock!). Mostly though, since we specialize in County of Santa Barbara Wine and Central Coast Wine, we don't carry a lot of these wines. But we think it is important that you be able to have an idea what they're like in case you are planning to buy some somewhere, or have them in your own collection. Enjoy.

Tom Hill, he says, is just a wine geek that lives in Northern New Mexico and works as a Computational Physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) doing numerical neutron transport & large scale code development. Been tasting wines seriously since 1971. He has a Los Alamos tasting group of about 60 people and a Santa Fe group. Other serious passions (in a life being consumed by its passions) are competitive sport fencing (foil & epee), biking, cooking. basketball, skiing, backpacking, mountain climbing. Tom has a grand vision in life of becoming Superman, but has settled for now to just be Clark Kent, a mild-mannered computer jock at LANL!
